Count null values crystal reports

I am looking for help on a formula. I can usually bumble my way around -- but this one has really got me stumped. I need to get an average of 2 fields while ignoring any null results. I thought that by adding the two fields together then dividing them by the count I could get the answer see below.

But, I am running into the same problem where it is counting the null field. Any ideas? Try using Crystal's automatic functions rather than coding it yourself. Thank you! One is a Company name field and the other is a concatenated 'client name' field. Anyway IsNULL does not help me much with the blanks - it's more of an accompaniment to blank handling. It is often easier to use default values you don't then have to check for NULL. I believe a query like that would need to be "advanced" and written in SQL from within the report builder.

But i don't get the proper result that i am looking for. Can somebody help me figuring the correct formula please. Mark - the below is a bit convoluted and i think redundant, but it should cover most situations.
