Applicants must provide scores directly to the BSN program via e-mail to nursing nmsu. Admission to the BSN program is a competitive process and is based on ranked admission scores. Students planning to apply to the BSN program must first contact the School of Nursing Advising Office before applying to the program in order to determine eligibility and to obtain an application.

Traditional BSN students can expect to complete at least three semesters of pre-requisite course work prior to starting the five 5 semester nursing program. Nursing students are also required to be vaccinated against measles mumps and rubella MMR ; tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis TDaP ; infleunza; varicella; and hepatitis B.

Students have the choice of to take the critical thinking section of the exam, but it is not included in the composite score or required. When you take the test, you are required to know which sections you need to take , as the testing center personnel will not know. There are many available sections of the exam but you only need the following eight sections for the DACC Nursing program.

You will see your scores as you take the test, section by section, and you will have access online after the exam at your Evolve Account. The results will include your scores on all sections of the exam you complete as well as a break-down of your performance. Once you have taken Version 1 of the exam, any failed sections may be retaken in Version 2 of the exam.

The Nursing Program will take the best score out of the two tests. Every semester Version 1 will be taken, then Version 2 can be taken if needed. If Version 2 is taken, student will receive ranking points for Version 2 as related to the ranking chart.
