Windows service stopped unexpectedly

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I have to take back my previous post based on last evenings tests that the problem was solved. This morning I find that the print spooler service is not running again. Getting same issues as before - also I find some strange errors showing in event viewer not related to printing.

I had 4 computers in the past two days that had this issue. What I had to do was delete all the printers, this will get your print spool to stay running, and then re-install the printers back. Hello, we are experiencing the same issue. We have tried all the suggested resolves but nothing has worked. The problem seemed to go away when I took the advice about deleting all printers.

Actually I decided to delete them one by one and see if there was any impact on the problem. In doing so, I found one printer had multiple definitions - appeared multiple times in the list of printers - even though I thought I had removed it long ago. I tried to remove the first duplicate and could not - then tried the second and was able to remove that definition. I went back and retried the definition I had tried first and this it was removed.
